My Story

Mattie grew up in Houston, Texas where she began pursuing her passion for the fine arts at a very young age.  She trained in ballet, jazz, tap, and modern and was part of the pre-professional dance company at Uptown Dance Studio. Mattie soon set her sights specifically in musical theatre and moved her training to HITS Theatre where she continued to take voice lessons, grow her dance training, and work on deepening her acting skills. After she graduated high school, Mattie moved to Fort Worth to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre with an emphasis in Musical Theatre from TCU. During her time as an undergraduate, Mattie auditioned and worked professionally in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area. Upon college graduation, Mattie moved to New York City to further pursue her career. Her journey eventually lead her back to Fort Worth, where she added the title of "choreographer" to her resume, in addition to performing. Some credits include: Beehive: The 60's Jukebox Musical at Jubilee Theatre, Titanic at Uptown Players, No Way to Treat a Lady (Sarah Stone/ choreographer) at Onstage in Bedford, Damn Yankees (Lola) at Theatre Arlington, and Holiday Inn (Lila Dixon) at Stolen Shakespeare Guild. Mattie currently is part of the Comedy Club at Theatre Arlington where she participates in improvisational and stand-up comedy routines.
